Servitization manager : it’s service economy time!
Servitization (offering value-added services integrated to the product, which becomes a smart product) is today one of the main innovation drivers for the industry in any sector. The enabling factor is the ability to collect and process data on products’ performance, on customers usage habits, their expectations and individual needs.
The Servitization Manager is the company’s ally in addressing all aspects related to this paradigm change, complex both from a strategic and implementing point of view. He/she is a specialist with international certification able to coach the manufacturer in the transformation of its business model to seize the opportunities of the Service Economy. The certification – unique on the market and available for professionals from all over Europe, without differences, is issued by CEPAS – a company of the Bureau Veritas Group – a certification body for skills, qualification of training and certification of services, which has defined the Certification Scheme on the basis of the methodology for the servitisation of SMEs developed and already successfully tested on 100 companies by Friuli Innovazione – together with 9 other partners – in the framework of the European project Things+.
Who’s the Servitization Manager?
The certificate of servitization manager can be issued to both the professional who is employed by the company and to independent consultants. In both cases, skills and experience are required in assisting companies in the innovation path towards a Product-Service System (PSS) model, supporting them in quickly implementing the idea of a product-based service to create added value for customers and/or acquire new markets.
The Service Manager should master skills in business strategy; business innovation; ICT/digital basics; project management; innovation management and change management: moreover he/she needs to demonstrate a comprehensive vision of all the business processes impacted by the new business model. It must also know the foundations of the methodology for servitisation in manufacturing SMEs developed by the international consortium THINGS+

How to become a Servitization Manager?
The certification exam is divided into a written test and an oral test, according to the methods and criteria specified by the certification scheme. Candidates who pass the exam will be automatically registered in the international public register of CEPAS of Servitization Managers.
