Innovation after 2020: human resources are lacking to imagine it

  • 3 August 2018

Friuli Innovazione continues to win European calls and plans to expand its workforce, but finds it difficult to find qualified and motivated figures to carry out international projects

From Europe, more money is coming for Italy: 38.6 billion out of 7 years (+ 6% compared to the 2014-2020 period) of structural funds that will have to be exploited to the fullest.

"We have to be ready to face the challenges and new opportunities that Europe offers us - says the Director of Friuli Innovation Fabio Feruglio - and to do so we look for resources prepared and motivated to be included in our staff; we would like to hire 4 people by October ".
A group already very strong, that of Friuli Innovazione, which only in 2017 presented 21 projects, of which 16 were European, for a total value of over 27 million euro, of which 8 already approved (4 regional and 4 European), equal at a value of around 4.5 million euros, with a success rate of almost 40% today.

"For some time we have been engaged in the search for European funding to transform economic resources into services for the competitiveness of our companies - explains Feruglio - and will continue to be so in the future. Looking at Europe requires us to anticipate issues and contents that have not yet become priorities for many of the local companies, but that they will soon be. This was the case with the subject of servitization and new business models, which was the subject of a project we presented more than three years ago: today everyone is talking about servitization. In participating in EU tenders we have now acquired significant experience, we have a network that counts almost 500 European partners, and excellent references ".

Friuli Innovation is therefore always looking for talents, even young ones, to grow within the team. Unfortunately, the answers to job advertisements published are less numerous and less qualified than expectations.

The ideal profile (send CV to curriculum@friulinnovazione.it) is that of professional figures with a composite background, preferably in the digital environment, good command of English and excellent soft skills such as team work, problem solving and flexibility, in addition to the ability to participate in international and multicultural meetings, a proactive attitude and a great desire to get involved.

The main areas of Friuli Innovazione's projects concern industrial innovation - today, especially in the context of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, the strategic innovation (servitization, new business models) and the support to innovative entrepreneurship, through the incubator of startups and with acceleration actions and personalized scales.
