As part of the training activities, IGA has organized for 22 June 2018 the first ECM Event (continuing education in medicine) entitled "Next Generation Diagnostics: diagnostics at the time of new generation sequencing", n. Res 1386-224671 Assigned credits 7.

The event is aimed at medical geneticists, cardiologists, hematologists and oncologists, biologists and medical technicians in the biomedical laboratory, medical students interested in the use of NGS for the identification of mutations for diagnostic purposes.

Course contents:

Introduction to new generation sequencing technologies (NGS).
Use of NGS for the detection of genetic variants: point mutations (SNPs), structural variants (SVs), and copy number variants (CNVs).
Application of NGS for diagnostic purposes: diagnosis of genetic diseases, pharmacogenomics.

The course is limited, registration is required via the online formhttps://goo.gl/forms/HMlcr20OF8McJHYB3
There is a reduced fee for students.
